Class Schedule

Week of March 17th : Group Critique + Assigning of Volunteers. The group critique is a valuable opportunity for you to get objective, honest feedback on your work in progress from your peers.

Week of March 24th Students please come to class on the 24th with an idea for the exhibit title. Students will vote on exhibit title during class. Screening Assignment: Watch the short 20 min documentary The Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard. Class discussion/blog comments due at beginning of class on March 31st

Week of March 31st:  Students continue working independently on construction / fabrication of your projects. Screening Assignment: Tapped, class discussion/blog comments due on Monday, April 7th.

Week of April 7th:  Airbrushing, constructing, fabricating, fine tuning,  Reading Assignment: The World Without Us, by Alan Weisman, Chapter 9, Polymers are Forever. Class discussion/blog comments due at beginning of class on April 14th

Week of April 21st:  Professional photographing of completed art work, each piece must be ready to photograph by beginning of class on Monday. On Wednesday, the class will vote on the best image of one of your pieces to be used for the evite announcing the exhibit. 

Week of April 28th:  Class periods will be spent getting ready for the exhibition. (We expect to have several hundred people show up to support you and see your work at the reception). Students will help lighting the exhibit, provide information to student volunteer graphic designer to create bid sheets, set their reserve prices, provide titles, accurate dimensions.  

Week of May 5th: Install Exhibit/Silent Auction / Reception for the artists. 

OPENING: May 7th, 6-8pm at the Double Oaks Masonic Outreach Center

Attendance is mandatory. We suggest you dress up, bring your friends and family. This is to be a celebration of all your hard work!
